Saurópolis is a photographic book, exposition (produced by Fundació Vilacasas) and video project by Darius Koehli. It
is about live at Barcelona's so called hi-tech barrio "Pueblo Nuevo",
while massive urban transformation is taking place (2006-2010).
A subjective view with an ironic touch. Classic street photography done with minimal hardware devices: For night shots a 2MP mobile phone camera (which was the most advanced model in 2006!), 10Mp compact camera for the daylight shots and a Harinezumi camera for the video. Live performance by percussionist Martin Hug for the soundtrack. Saurópolis video was first presented at the Loop festival 2010 at Espai Ubu, in the very heart of Poble Nou, Barcelona. |
